Comet Way and PsiNaptic Partner to Bring JINI™ Networking Technology to the Shop Floor

PITTSBURGH, PA and CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA - Comet Way Inc. the market leader in agent software systems for networks, embedded systems, and smart devices, and PsiNaptic Inc., the first company to implement stand alone Jini Networking Technology for embedded processors, today announced the integration of their software platform to provide a solution for adaptive networking capabilities in mobile and embedded devices.

"PsiNaptic's JMatos makes it easier to integrate Comet Way's products with JINI enabled self-configuring networks." says Paul Cunningham, CTO of Comet Way. "We provide examples of working with PsiNaptic's JINI implementation on our new agentkernel.com site, and already there is lots of interest from our developers who want to work with JINI."

Comet Way provides the Comet Way OPS (Open Production System) server, a lightweight Java-based software platform for integrating manufacturing systems with other IT applications. The Comet Way OPS server is based on Comet Way's Agent Kernel, an open source embedded java application server. The Comet Way Agent Kernel can be downloaded from http://www.agentkernel.com.

PsiNaptic's JMatos™ adds the power of Jini to Comet Way's Agent Kernel platform. JMatos Jini implementation does not rely on surrogate architecture and does not assume the presence of a central server, allowing devices to form ad-hoc networks. The integration of PsiNaptic's JMatos software With the Comet Way's Agent Kernel platform enables devices to network with other devices, seamlessly access each other, seek out and exchange applications and information, and adapt to dynamic environments.
